Counting Down to our Holiday

Already dear and I are counting down to 4 Nov when we fly to Taipei for our holiday. We'll make an effort to go to Danshui and maybe Beitou this time. It's odd that we haven't been to Danshui during our several trips to Taiwan. Time seems to fly by quickly when you are on vacation and I am back to work the next day.

Wedding Dinner

I attended my ex-colleague's wedding dinner on sunday together with my former team. It's good to see everyone again and knowing that most of us are doing well! A few of us changed jobs (myself included), one made a tidy good profit after selling her condominium and is now staying in a fully paid up HDB. The general mood is very positive that we will see good salary increment this year, more weddings and more babies.
Speaking of which, 2 of them have "booked" me for their weddings next year.
I'll be happy to attend, minus the "match-making" for me please. Haaa..

EAT PRAY LOVE

I find this movie inspiring and think most people can relate to it. It's a visual treat which brought us to the scenic Italy, India and Bali. Julia Roberts still looks good and her acting is natural. Of her 3 men in the movie, i feel that her ex-husband is the victim and he did nothing wrong. Her second guy appeared as a form of excitement and uncertainty. The third guy has a similar background like Julia and he is brave to want to listen to how she really feel about him/them.
No doubt there is a little emotional drama at work here, then again, how many people can really drop everything today and go wandering all over the world to re-discover or recharge yourself? Unless your world is falling apart or you decide to go on sabbatical leave, most people will choose to live carpe diem.
Julia Roberts chose a word at the end of the movie; cross-over, I thought I would choose two words;
Courage and Faith!

New Mascot for the New Drug

There was a soft launch for a new drug today and everyone gathered to celebrate the occassion. As I sat through and listened to the presentation to understand more about the industry, I realised that it's also a highly competitive and regulated industry where the precise timing of a drug launch could mean "a make or break" outcome. A minute too early or too late into the market makes a difference just as much as the pricing war to retain the market leader advantage. On top of this, it's time-consuming and process intensive. Indeed, today marks the fruition of good teamwork that was well executed both from behind the scene clinical researches/trials and Finance to front line functions such as PR/Marketing, Product and Sales teams to launch the drug. This new drug is projected to generate a steady revenue stream for the company for the next 4-5 years, offering protection against newer diseases and viruses.

Interestingly, there was a mascot for the new drug and I must say that it looks cute!
Wonder how does the mascot for Viagra or Cialis look like back then?
and no, i didn't have my photo taken with the mascot!

Singaporean to offer 320 Million Pounds for Liverpool Football Club

Although Singapore businessman Peter Lim did not get to buy Liverpool with his all cash offer of 320 million pounds, he has certainly generated publicity for Singapore and himself.
How's that to rival YOG and Formula One?
