Made a trip to the Medical Centre for my neck problem and hope that the aching will go away soon. In the mean time, I need to relax and maintain a good posture..

The Movie- Avatar in 3D

Well.. this is an interesting and visually stunning movie. I thought I would most probably have to watch it on blue ray since I haven't been able to get movie tickets for it. The creatures and their facial expressions look realistic and I was glued to my seat for 2 hours plus. Nice way to spend a sunday.

Watch the 3D version and it's definitely a better experience.

Ris Low to promote safe sex

Meet Ris Low, the not so girl-next-door singaporean who brought us the "Boomz" and "Shingz". People were quick to capitalise on her for business and use her catchy phrases. And like it or not, she did made herself a name here; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ris_Low. Now that the 19-year-old has turned condom ambassador, I just hope that she is enjoying her limelight while it last and not live to regret later in her life for this little episode.

Singapore's very own- Ris Low
And while we are on this topic, let's do a quick "How to put it on" run down;
1) Hold on to the tip and slowly roll down to the base
2) Ease over to ensure a tight fit
3) Check that it fully covers your .....

Bought this coin pouch for Uncle Ben since he was looking for one. After looking at several brands and designs, I picked this one because it has the largest capacity. (evil grin- so that he can pay with the coins every time.. LOL hahaaa.. I am just kidding ). This Uncle Ben is a very particular person and hope he starts to use it soon.. haaaaa...

Efficiency at Food Court- Food Opera @ Ion

I usually avoid the long queue and simply don't like waiting.. Came across this at the airport and it would be good to see more of this in Singapore;

Step 1: You place your food order at the counter and receive the following number tag. You can go back to your table or go to the other stalls.

Step 2: The LED lights up and gadget vibrates when your food order is ready for collection.

Step 3: Dinner is served!

Black Pepper Chicken + Rice

Early Planning for Reunion Dinner

I usually have an early family reunion dinner because my sister will be overseas during the lunar new year. This year is no exception and one place that has been shortlisted is the Seafood Paradise.

I was told that their signature dish is the "creamy butter crab" (usually it's black or white pepper crab or chilli crab) and about the interesting background of the boss.

Will check it out then..
You can find out more about the Seafood Paradise and their boss here;

Looking for a Valentines Day Gift

Last year I got baby a 16GB Ipod Touch which turned out to be a practical and ideal gift. So this year, I stumbled upon this micro hi-fi system from Philips and thought this should be the perfect valetines day gift for baby this time.. It comes with;

  • bluetooth for wireless connection
  • a USB port
  • is a CD player
  • an ipod docking station
  • has radio function
  • plays music from memory cards

Basically, I think it has everything a music lover would like, plus it's sleek in design and stylish too, right? So this is it then!

A Moving Article

Here's an interesting article about Parents' wish for their child/children and help us remember their love.

I believe most parents love their child/children. We do live in a stressful and fast evolving global context. Depending on our personality and social circle, we express and communicate in a different form that sometime our parents can never be able to identify with us. It doesn't mean we don't love our parents, we just don't love them the way they want us to be. It takes time, age and maturity to understand and appreciate why generation gap do exist; perhaps it's the same way why we might not always relate to the younger generation. After reading this article, I am hopeful... again!

David Tao's Concert at the Singapore Indoor Stadium

Went to the David Tao's concert at the Singapore Indoor stadium. It was a simple performance with no elaborated stage set up and only 2 change of stage clothings. I though it was more of western style singing and I would prefer if he had sung more mandarin songs from his earlier albums. Overall, 5/10 rating.. Here are some photos from that night;

Taipei Trip- Countdown to 2010 at Taipei 101

I was at Taipei 101 for the countdown to 2010! Since we arrived there early, we managed to get pretty close to the stage. It was jammed packed with people and we got squeezed, sandwiched and simply moved along the way. You can literally hear the girls screaming every now and then, not forgetting the occasional hot gush of foul smell. Never mind all this, watching all the pop stars like S.H.E, Lee Hom, Mayday, Fahrenheit, etc peforming "live" was worthwhile. The fireworks at midnight was pretty but almost the same as previous years. Here are some photos;

Althought Burj Dubai has replaced Taipei 101 as the tallest building in the world, it remains an icon for Taipei.

Check out the streets around Taipei 101 after the countdown party at 1:30am. You can see many mobile toilets and that's important. (Although we didn't have any toilet break for almost 6 hours that night, so go for countdown party when you are younger, ok... haa... )

Situation at the Metro station at Taipei City Hall after the party. Although metro service was for 24 hours that day, it was still a feat to board the train. Generally, the crowds were well-behaved and the metro staff were well-trained to manage the situation.
Finally, We got into the metro station and boarded an empty train back to our hotel. Good night Taipei !
